Tu woh Yusuf hai ke har Misr hai Kaanaan tera
Qafila ho na sakega kabhi viraan tera
Ghayr ek bang-e-dara kuch nahin saamaan tera
Nakhl-i shamasti-o dar shola dawad resha-e-tu
Aaqibat soz bawad saya-i andesha-e-tu.
Your skirt is undefiled by the dust of a homeland
You are the Yusuf for whom every Egypt is Canaan
It will never be possible to destroy your caravan
Nothing except the Clarions’s Call is your chattel
You are a candle like tree, its flame’s smoke your roots are
Your thoughts free from the care of the end are.
